A lot of 3 loose pages, comprising observations on the double regulator of Louis XVIII (Breguet N° 3177, today in the Musée des Arts et Métiers à Paris), made from September 1822 to July 1823. Accompanied by a note regarding a dispute between Breguet and Bourdier, who had made a double clock on the model of one owned by Louis XVIII.

An interesting letter addressed to Breguet and dated October 15, 1814, from Rémond, Lamy, Mercier & Cie of Geneva, from whom Breguet ordered a snuff box, accompanied by a color drawing. Breguet had conserved his ties with Genevan artisans and crasftmen, in particular with enamelers who executed decorations for watches for the Turkish market and some Pendule Sympathiques.

Letter from the Baron de Marinville, to Abraham Louis Breguet, dated from Cassel, January 31, 1810. Marinville is maître de la garde-robe of the king of Westphalia, Jerôme Bonarparte. his functions included the charge of the King's watches. He asks Breguet to replace a glass on a watch of the King Jerome which held a portrait and to then pass it on to the jeweler Nitot for further work.

An unusual letter from Countess Orloff, dated Geneva, December 1818, and addressed to Abraham Louis Breguet, with a postmark from Geneva and Ferney, and wax seal. Count and Countess Orloff, Russian aristocrats, were important. clients of Breguet. Countess Orloff eapologizes for a misunderstanding concerning a sum owed to Breguet, and signs, Je vous prie de croire votre toute dévouée A.C Orloff.

An exceptional letter from Antide Janvier (1751-1835) to Abraham Louis Breguet, dated October 1810, in which Janvier thanks Breguet for services rendered. Mention is made of a watch with one hand and Janvier's desire to apply the idea to public clocks. Janvier finishes on a somewhat bitter note, mentioning an old quarrel with Berthoud, whom he accused of having mutilitated a memoir he had written, which Berthoud had freely edited and published in his Histoire de la mesure du temps. This unique document links three great watchmaking geniuses of the period: Berthoud, Janvier and Breguet.

Breguet, Paris, 1829. Letter a Monsieur Louis Breguet sur une Pendule de Messr Breguet Père et Fils, avec le tableau de la marche de cette Pendule pendant 5 années consecutives, par M. Schumacher, Altona, 1829, 8 pages. An important account on performance of Breguet's astronomical clock No. 3405 taken between Oct. 21, 1822 and Nov. 20, 1827. Schumacher bought the clock on June 19, 1820 for 1200 francs. It was an important regulator from a series of three pieces. Schumacher was one of the most important Breguet clock collectors. He bought at least twenty pieces from him. (not illustrated)

The Gerugross Breguet et Fils, No. 2898, sold on September 30, 1816 to Monsieur Gerugross for 4,000 francs. Exceptional and highly important small gilt bronze astronomical eight-day carriage clock built on the principles of the Garde Temps, with jeweled lever escapement, quarter-repeating, alarm, phases of the moon, and digital calendar, in original leather fitted box. Accompanied by a certificate.

The Empress Marie Louise Breguet, No. 2784, Médaillon d'or, sold to Empress Marie-Louise on 27 September, 1813 for 2,000 francs. An exceptional, small 20K gold slim astronomical watch with phases of the moon, its age and regulator on the dial, built along the principles of the Garde Temps. Accompanied by the original morocco leather fitted box, original ratchet key on short gold chain, and Breguet certificate No. 2616, dated 1922.

The Grand Duc Constantin Nicolaevitch Breguet, No. 23/647, entered into the register on March 10, 1788, sold to an unknown person, bought back from Madame Sanzé, refinished and sold on June 3, 1850 to Monsieur Brocot, horloger, on behalf of His Imperial Highness, Grand Duc Constantin Nicolaevitch of Russia. Accompanied by a certificate. Very important and rare, 18K gold, quarter-repeating à tact self-winding small perpetuelle with 60-hour power reserve.

Comprising drawings of lever, cylinder, Roskopf, English lever, spring detent, and pivoted detent escapements, repetition work, galvanometer, turning tools, different gearing including column wolf tooth, keyless windings, stop work arrangement, repeater governors, different parts of lever escapement, measuring calipers, and others. In addition, the lot contains Frossard's 1898 diploma from the school, in modern cardboard folder. Signed on every drawing. Dim. varying from 64 x 48 cm to 41 x 32 cm. Centering plate with three dog clamps, spring-loaded centering post, steel bed, driven by in-line two wheel transmission with a crank lever, two-directional slide rest controlled by cranks, angular cutter adjustment, T-bar. Later wooden base and third wheel. Base dim. 39 cm x 20 cm. Overall 55 cm. Good condition. A very well preserved tool.
